Dr. Morice: Tubal Ligation Doesn’t Have to Be Permanent

Dr. Morice: Tubal Ligation

Some women who have had their tubes tied regret their decision. The decision to do so may have been made in haste, you may have been convinced by someone else to do it, or you may just want to have kids again. The good news is, tubal ligation doesn’t have to be permanent. Dr. Morice is an experienced tubal reversal surgeon who is here to make your dreams of a growing family come true.

Who is Dr. Morice?

Dr. Trey Morice completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at West Virginia University. Here, he first started performing tubal reversals. Dr. Morice loved being a part of watching familys’ dreams come true. After completing his residency in 2003, Dr. Morice built and opened the Atchafalaya Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic in Morgan City, Louisiana. Dr. Morice has now been performing tubal reversal surgery for over 13 years, and his office has the baby pictures to prove it.

What is tubal reversal surgery?

Tubal reversal surgery, also known as tubotubal anastomosis, allows a woman to conceive naturally again after having a tubal ligation. Dr. Morice performs the surgery using microsurgical techniques. This requires only a 2” incision at the pubic hairline. Dr. Morice then uses magnification and small instruments to reopen the section of each fallopian tube that is blocked off. This leaves 2 open ends on each fallopian tube. Dr. Morice then precisely realigns the open ends and sutures them together using absorbable stitches. This restores the function of a woman’s fallopian tubes. An egg is once again able to travel down the fallopian tubes to the uterus for fertilization. Thus, fertility is restored.

What is the pregnancy success rate after a tubal reversal?

The pregnancy rate after tubal reversals is very high. On average, it is around 75%. This varies with certain factors. These factors are:

-          Age

-          Type of tubal ligation performed

-          Length of fallopian tube remaining

-          Length of time that has passed since the tubal ligation

If you are interested in having a tubal reversal, Dr. Morice will review your medical history and the factors above to estimate your chances of pregnancy after a reversal.

How much does a tubal reversal cost?

A tubal reversal with Dr. Morice is only $5250. This is the lowest-priced tubal reversal in the US. Dr. Morice has strong partnerships with neighboring hospitals, allowing him to offer his patients a low price. Dr. Morice also accepts CareCredit. CareCredit allows you to finance your tubal reversal and set up a payment plan that you are comfortable with.
